Joyful Pets
Servicing Dutchess, Putnam & Westchester Counties, NY and Fairfield County, CT
If you are here, you most likely have a special pet that you love beyond words and are concerned that they are not doing as well as they could be in our crazy world. I get it!
I started Joyful Pets in 2012 to help pets adjust to their guardians’ lives using compassionate, effective, modern science-based behavior training protocols.
Animals are sentient beings. Like humans, they have brains, central nervous systems, extraordinary senses, deep feelings, and an album of past experiences. All these things come together and affect how our pets thrive in our homes, our neighborhoods, and the greater world. And because of this, no one training plan fits every dog or cat. Our training plans need to be tailored to each pet’s individual needs and their guardian’s goals for working with their pet.

I have worked with many organizations in the last decade. From 2015-2018, I was the Director of Behavior & Enrichment at the SPCA of Westchester. I developed training and volunteer programs that made it possible for sheltered dogs to build the skills they needed to get adopted into their Forever Homes.
I created a “Shelter Trainer Forum FaceBook Group” to provide shelter trainers with a platform to discuss behavior modification techniques, adoptions & training resources, and have a place to support the welfare of shelter trainers through in-person and virtual meetings. We continue to meet today.
In 2020, I joined Behavior Vets NYC, as a Behavior Consultant in Westchester County and the Director of Regional Development. I collaborated with our team of behavior veterinarians and behavior consultants to work with dogs suffering from a wide range of behavioral issues; such as fear of people, other dogs, new environments or noise; leash reactivity; resource guarding; separation anxiety; and dog/dog, cat/cat or dog/cat Aggression.
The summer of 2024 brought me full circle back to working for myself at Joyful Pets. My practice covers northern Westchester, Putnam & Dutchess Counties in NY, and Fairfield County in CT.
